Low-power Capacitive Touch Detection using Atmel SAM4L
Sleepwalking |
|
Build a solution where a
capacitive touch button will be used to wake up the MCU from a deep sleep
mode. The entire touch functionality will be implemented using the onboard
hardware touch controller which can operate independent of the CPU. |

Designing a Wireless Sensor in Atmel Software Framework on the
Atmel SAM4L-EK |
|
Implement a wireless solution on
the SAM4L-EK in combination with the wireless extension board and use as a
wireless temperature sensor. All sensors will connect to a central unit in
star network similar to what would be done in a real life application. |

Introduction to Atmel Studio and Atmel SAM D20 |
|
The first afternoon session will
introduce Atmel Studio 6 and the SAM D20 Cortex M0+ based microcontroller.
After building and downloading a simple project to validate the development
Environment, some of the key features of the SAM D20 microcontroller and the
SAM D20 Xplained Pro board will also be covered.

Atmel SAM D20: Displaying Data |
|
The lab session will introduce
the OLED1 Xplained Pro that will be provided. Students will then develop some
basic display layer that allows them to present all types of data to the OLED
screen including formatted numbers and bar graphs. |

Atmel SAM D20: Interfacing to Sensors |
|
The third lab session will
introduce another small interface board to the SAM D20 system, the I/O1
Xplained Pro extension kit, which provides a temperature and light sensor.
Students will use the OLED display modules created during the first session
to complete a basic thermometer application that will also display the current light level in a scrolling bar graph on the OLED
display.
